JustWatch Streaming Charts: May 2026

These are the movies and TV shows US consumers have been most interested in over the previous month

Send Help
Kind of strange to see Send Help attract more attention than other, more widely promoted recent movies in last month’s JustWatch charts, but since it’s an original, well-made film that has something to say, you won’t see us complaining. (Image: 20th Century Studios)

Movie and TV show fans have never had it so good when it comes to the content options available for the consumer market: there are currently more than a dozen different streaming services delivering all kinds of movies or series straight to their TV sets, literally at the touch of a button. With that amount of new content being released every month, though, which films or TV shows are more likely to be worth each viewer’s precious time? Which movies or series are most people interested in knowing about?

That’s where JustWatch comes in. It’s a Web service designed to collect and present information on every film or TV show featured in practically all streaming services operating around the world today, in one place. Visitors can create a free account, pick their country of residence – content is often different in various regions – select the streaming services they are interested in and get recommendations based on their preferences and searches. Consumers can then use the JustWatch apps available for their Smart TV, streaming device, smartphone or tablet so as to always have new suggestions available on what’s hot on every streaming platform.

Based on user interest – as dictated by searches and recommendations – JustWatch is able to put together Top Ten charts of movies and TV shows across all streaming services operating in each country, every month. These are the films that consumers in the United States have been more interested in over the past few weeks.

The summer blockbuster season is about to begin so action films and thrillers get more attention on streaming services right now – but look at that Bugonia still going strong! Are you done playing with photography, Yorgos? We may need a new Lanthimos film soon. (Image: JustWatch)

Based on the same information, these are the TV shows that consumers in the United States have shown the most interest in over the same period of time.

The latest seasons of several successful TV shows wrapped up last month or just did this month but no less than three new ones deserve a watch for various different reasons. Not a balanced state of affairs by any means, but we’ll take it. (Image: JustWatch)

Taking a look at the Top Ten Movies chart one can tell that consumers are well and truly ready for the summer blockbuster season, as most films attracting interest on streaming services now are either action films or thrillers. Send Help is unpredictably but deservedly leading the pack and the beautiful Remarkably Bright Creatures follows close, a few more films move a few spots up or down compared to last month while Apex and Jack Ryan’s latest adventure also get their own spots for… reasons unknown. Beloved Bugonia somehow remains on people’s radar more than half a year after it left cinemas. Will it outlast 2024’s The Substance as the longest JustWatch chart resident in recent memory? Weirder things have happened!

Things were more predictable in terms of TV shows: the latest seasons of The Boys, Euphoria, Your Friends and Neighbors and From got a spot again, along with other a few others, but three new entries – Widow’s Bay, Dutton Ranch and Spider Noir – are definitely worth a watch. Will audiences show interest for less established productions in June? Only a few weeks to find out!
